Estimada Sra. Ribecco:
Nos ponemos en contacto con usted en respuesta al escrito que ha enviado a la Presidencia del Gobierno, en el que expone sus consideraciones sobre la situación en Afganistán.
En primer lugar y como seguramente conoce, el Gobierno de España, a través del Ministerio de Defensa y del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, Unión Europea y Cooperación, comenzó a repatriar el día 19 de agosto a españoles y afganos y continúa trabajando en el regreso del resto de colaboradores y familiares, así como de líderes en defensa de los derechos humanos, de los derechos de la mujer y de la infancia, entre otros activistas.
España, junto con la comunidad internacional, tiene el deber de dar todo el apoyo humano y material posible, a aquellas personas que ahora se ven obligadas a dejar su país y su vida. Para ello, distintas unidades de las Fuerzas Armadas han instalado en la Base Aérea de Torrejón de Ardoz el equipamiento necesario para ofrecer alojamiento, manutención y el resto de servicios básicos a cerca de 800 personas. El pasado 21 de agosto, el Presidente del Gobierno, Pedro Sánchez, visitó dichas instalaciones acompañado por el Presidente del Consejo Europeo, Charles Michel y la Presidenta de la Comisión Europea, Ursula von der Leyen, quien expresó su felicitación y agradecimiento al Gobierno de España por haber puesto en marcha dicho centro de acogida.
Agradeciendo su espíritu solidario y sus aportaciones, que permiten al Jefe del Ejecutivo conocer de primera mano las inquietudes de la ciudadanía, le enviamos un cordial saludo,

Letters sent to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, the President of the French Republic, the President of the Italian Republic and the President of the Swiss Confederation.
Text of the letter:
Your Excellency,
My name is Mariacarmela Ribecco (Human Rights Activist) and I am writing to ask for your help and support for the Afghan people.
Starting from May 2021, a new offensive by the Taliban militias began, which in a few weeks conquered Afghanistan. The Taliban entered Kabul on August 15, 2021. President Ashraf Ghani left the country and a reborn Islamic emirate of Afghanistan was established, led by Abdul Ghani Baradar.
A new reality that destabilizes a country that has tried, over the years, to find the strength to be able to get out of war and rediscover peace, the protection of human rights, the protection of religious minorities and the protection of women. A process undermined today by the Taliban regime.
I ask for humanitarian corridors.
I ask for support for Afghan families on the run.
I ask the right of asylum for human rights activists, journalists, translators and citizens threatened by the Taliban regime.
I ask for cooperation and help for the Afghan people who deserve all our support.
